Leaker Digital Chat Station says the phone uses two 4,390mAh cells for a combined rated capacity of 8,780mAh, the kind of number that typically gets rounded up to a "9,000mAh" marketing figure. My Mobile India adds detail the Android Authority report skipped: a rated energy of 33.11Wh and a nominal voltage of 7.54V (Digital Chat Station via Android Authority, yesterday).
That level of specificity is unusual for a phone that hasn't been announced, and it makes the battery the best-documented number in this story. Charging wattage, camera placement, and display refresh rate are a different problem: those carry conflicting figures from separate outlets, not just one unconfirmed number from one leak chain.
The 9,000mAh battery claim, and what it would mean in practice
A dual-cell pack rated at 8,780mAh would be, if accurate, the largest battery OnePlus has put in a flagship, surpassing the OnePlus 15's 7,300mAh cell (Android Authority, yesterday; My Mobile India, yesterday).
An 8,780mAh rating is roughly 20% larger than the OnePlus 15's cell; round up to the "9,000mAh" typical figure and the gain climbs closer to 23%. Neither number tells you much about actual runtime on its own. Display refresh rate, chipset efficiency, and software power management all shape how a battery performs in the hand, and none of those are confirmed for the OnePlus 16 yet.
For a sense of what the current generation already delivers, the OnePlus 15's 7,300mAh battery posted a 23-hour, 7-minute active-use score on GSMArena and lasted more than two days in extended testing, with a full charge taking 41 minutes at 120W, according to DigitBin testing from earlier this year.
Silicon-carbon anodes are what let the OnePlus 15 fit a 7,300mAh cell into a body thinner than the Galaxy S25 Ultra's, per the same DigitBin testing. No source in this reporting chain confirms the OnePlus 16 uses the same chemistry, so any comparison between the two phones' capacities stays illustrative rather than predictive.
OnePlus 16 100W fast charging: the part of the story still in flux
Android Authority and My Mobile India both report 100W wired charging with no mention of wireless (Android Authority; My Mobile India, both yesterday). A Gizchina report from four months ago claimed 120W wired and 50W wireless instead, alongside the same rough 9,000mAh capacity figure.
That gap matters beyond the raw wattage. Peak charging speed doesn't tell you how long a full charge actually takes, whether wireless charging ships at all, or how the phone behaves once the battery warms up partway through a session. Those outcomes depend on the charging curve OnePlus tunes into the software, not the number printed on a leak sheet.
The OnePlus 15's 7,300mAh cell carries 46% more capacity than the Galaxy S25 Ultra's 5,000mAh battery (DigitBin, earlier this year), yet still charged faster than the Galaxy S25 Ultra in the same testing. Capacity and charging speed aren't necessarily in tension, but a bigger cell doesn't guarantee a specific charge time either.
Until OnePlus or an independent hands-on test confirms the actual wattage, both 100W and 120W stay leak-stage numbers. A similar split runs through the camera reporting, where the disagreement is about placement rather than whether a 200MP sensor exists at all.
Camera claims at a glance: three competing versions
All three reports agree a 200MP sensor shows up somewhere in the OnePlus 16's camera array, but they disagree on where (Android Authority; My Mobile India, both yesterday; Gizchina, four months ago). A third, less consistently sourced version floats dual 200MP sensors, one primary and one periscope. Gizchina notes its sources agree more on the telephoto spec than on how the primary camera is configured.
Worth noting for plausibility, not placement: the HP5 sensor already ships in OPPO's Find X9 series and in the Find N6's main camera. OnePlus's sibling brand has ready access to the part regardless of where it eventually lands on the OnePlus 16.
OnePlus 16 specs leak: other reported details worth tracking
Multiple reports repeat the same chipset claim: Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro running Android 17-based ColorOS 17, with Gizchina specifying it as the 2nm-class SM8975 variant that adds LPDDR6 memory support (My Mobile India, yesterday; Gizchina, four months ago).
The display tells a different story. My Mobile India reports a 6.78-inch, 1.5K LTPO OLED panel at 185Hz (My Mobile India, yesterday), while Gizchina's earlier leak claims a 240Hz BOE X5 panel (Gizchina, four months ago). That's a spec still in flux, not a settled number.
On OnePlus 16 price and release details, leaked China figures start at 4,999 yuan (roughly $740) for the 8GB/256GB base model and rise to 7,499 yuan (roughly $1,110) for a 16GB/1TB limited edition (Android Authority, yesterday). That's a China-market leak, and it says nothing about global retail pricing, taxes, or regional configurations.

What this means for OnePlus 16 buyers
The battery number holds up as the best-documented spec in this story, complete with rated energy and voltage figures that most phone leaks never bother to include. OnePlus China General Manager Liu Baoyou reportedly confirmed a second-half 2026 China launch (My Mobile India, yesterday). That timing, and the leaked China pricing alongside it, tells buyers outside China nothing about when the phone reaches their market, what it costs there, or which configurations arrive.
None of that makes the leak trail worthless. It just means the phone's real story starts once OnePlus releases official specifications and independent reviewers get a unit in hand. A 9,000mAh battery only matters if it survives daily use without cooking the phone's internals or the charging speed OnePlus promised, and that's a test no leak can run.
