News and Updates about OnePlus

New hands-on footage from China shows the OnePlus 16's rear lighting system in action. OnePlus calls the feature the Interstellar Lighting Effect, while OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis has also referred to it as the "Interstellar Light Effect." Both names refer to the same rear-lighting system.

A new report claims OPPO may retire OxygenOS on all future global devices, folding it into ColorOS alongside realme UI, according to the report. That claim comes from a single unnamed source, but it lands against a backdrop of independently confirmed signals: OnePlus' German website now directs customers to OPPO hardware, most of the European team walked out in April, and UK inventory has run dry with no refresh in sight. Taken together, the software consolidation report and the brand retreat...

OnePlus is reportedly preparing to launch a new budget phone series in India, with some models priced under Rs 20,000 (roughly $240) and a target window of July 2026. The line is expected to carry the N series name and sit below the existing Nord range, which would give OnePlus a three-tier portfolio for the first time. OnePlus has not confirmed any of this.

Android Authority's Stephen Schenck visited a Best Buy this week and found no OnePlus phones on display. A store associate confirmed the devices had recently been pulled from that floor space, Android Authority reported today. Multiple Reddit users reported the same pattern at their own locations, with Nothing phones appearing in the slots where OnePlus units used to sit.

Two leaks about the OnePlus 16 camera have surfaced, and they don't agree. One tipster says OnePlus is testing a 200MP main camera sensor. Another says the same 200MP sensor belongs in a periscope telephoto slot. The remaining cameras would reportedly stay at 50MP each either way. That disagreement isn't a minor detail gap it describes two fundamentally different phones.

OnePlus has just dropped official images of the upcoming OnePlus 15T, and the reality is quite different from what the rumor mill had been churning out. While early leaks suggested we'd see a dramatic design overhaul similar to recent iPhone models, the company's official Weibo reveal shows something much more familiar. The device maintains the design language from its predecessor rather than adopting the previously rumored iPhone-inspired look. With OnePlus positioning this as the "dream phone...

Robin Liu, who has led OnePlus India since 2018, is stepping down effective March 31 and has already returned to China, The Economic Times reported today. The exit lands two months after Liu publicly called shutdown reports "misinformation" and it gives the OnePlus India restructuring argument considerably more weight than it had yesterday. That said, this is not confirmation of a shutdown. The distance between those two things matters, and this article will hold it.

A retail box leak published five days ago has surfaced the most concrete OnePlus Nord 6 specs yet: a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, a 9,000mAh battery, and a 32MP autofocus selfie camera, according to GSMArena (March 19). Those numbers make more sense once you know the likely context: multiple sources report the Nord 6 is a rebadged OnePlus Turbo 6, a phone already on sale in China, which explains why the leaked spec sheet looks far more aggressive than anything the Nord line has produced before.

OnePlus 16 Leak: 240Hz Display and Dual 200MP Cameras Could Redefine Flagship Performance

You've probably heard by now that OnePlus might be shutting down. The company was quick to push back against these reports, with Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India, reassuring users that the company would continue operating normally and OnePlus North America stating they "continue to operate, with full guarantee of users' after-sales support, software updates, and rights commitments".

When OnePlus first announced the 15R, many of us expected another typical mid-range display—decent enough, but nothing special. The company's R-series has historically been about smart compromises, delivering solid performance at a more accessible price point.

You know what's frustrating? When a company takes a beloved formula and breaks it for seemingly no good reason. That's exactly what's happened with the OnePlus 15R, and after spending quality time with this device, I can tell you it's a confused mess that abandons everything that made the R-series compelling in the first place.

OnePlus has been riding high with the global launch of its latest flagship, but US customers have been left waiting at the digital doorstep. What started as a routine regulatory approval process turned into an unexpected bottleneck—one that had less to do with the device itself, but everything to do with Washington politics. The frustration for consumers is understandable: when delays stem from bureaucratic gridlock rather than product issues, it feels particularly maddening.

OnePlus is making some serious noise in the smartphone world right now, and honestly, it's about time. The company has officially dropped the news that tech enthusiasts have been waiting for: the OnePlus 15R will launch globally on December 17, 2025 (Android Central). But here's what makes this launch particularly exciting—the OnePlus 15R will be the first Android smartphone powered by the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset (Android Central).

The OnePlus 15 is not tiptoeing into the spotlight. Its global debut blends speed, new tech, and a few regulatory potholes. Most markets get it fast, just not all at once.

The OnePlus 15 has officially arrived, and let me tell you, it's got the tech world talking for all the right reasons, and some of the wrong ones too. This is not just another incremental update. OnePlus has positioned this flagship as a serious performance monster that directly challenges established players like Samsung and Apple, shifting the value equation in premium smartphones.

OnePlus just dropped a bombshell, the kind that might make Samsung sweat. The company officially announced through Weibo that the OnePlus 15 will pack a massive 7,300mAh battery. Not just impressive; it flips the script and makes the Galaxy S25 Ultra's expected 5,000mAh pack look quaint by comparison.

OnePlus has officially unveiled OxygenOS 16, a sharp turn in design that nudges the Android experience closer to iOS territory. With the OnePlus 15 launch approaching in just a few months, as officially confirmed for both China and global markets, this update represents OnePlus's most ambitious software redesign yet. The timing lands right as Android 16 has settled into the market, making this OxygenOS 16's official debut moment.
